The DEMAND Hub (Data-Enabled Medical technologies ANd Devices Hub) is delighted to bring you this SME engagement event that will provide support to small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to access the right expertise that will enable them to successfully collaborate and move novel ideas from products and services through to apps and data technologies.

The event will provide delegates with an opportunity to engage with experts working within the field of medical innovation translation and will focus on how collaboration is key for the success of these innovations from the laboratory through to the clinic and towards commercial exploitation.
The event will also offer a unique pitching opportunity for SMEs to receive 1-to-1 coaching from experts working within the field of commercialisation and technology translation.

Dragons Den style pitch event
We are looking for businesses to pitch at our Dragons Den style pitch event to be in with a chance of receiving free support.
If you’re interested in pitching, register for a Dragon’s Den pitch ticket (As well as your delegate ticket for the event) and submit a 200 word summary of your technology by Thursday 1st September 2022 to D.Sear@bham.ac.uk
Support Offered:
Business development support – DEMAND Hub supports businesses with knowledge of IP and access to specific funding for medical technologies and digital healthcare
Digital Tech support – We provide a unique “Data Sherpa” model of support for industry. DEMAND Hub provides access to individuals who understand the local NHS, academic and business environments and can deliver the appropriate study design, data linkage, extraction and analyses to provide SMEs with the insights they need to support their product development.
Validation and commercialisation – DEMAND Hub provides Technical and Clinical understanding to help evaluate the relevance of solutions, the evidence required and optimal developmental pathway, including potential service redesign.
Technician and Lab support – We provide highly-skilled support utilising our extensive laboratory infrastructure to underpin effective product design, development and testing.
Clinical Studies and Trials support – DEMAND Hub has expertise in the design of clinical trials and studies attuned to the medical technology regulatory environment, and can guide businesses in the testing and evaluation needs and designs for specific product types.
Clinician/patient/user experience support – We help to facilitate user experience and accessibility testing and development by connecting businesses to appropriate stakeholders and guiding appropriate design and evidence tools.
